$1,000,000 Settlement for Plaintiff Involved in Tractor-Trailer Crash
A $1,000,000 auto accident lawsuit involving two cars and a tractor-trailer on Interstate 81 has been settled.
The defendant rear-ended a car on Interstate 81 with the plaintiff as a passenger, rendering both vehicles inoperable. Shortly thereafter, a tractor-trailer traveling on the interstate collided with the two cards, seriously injuring the plaintiff.
According to the official Virginia State Police crash report, the tractor-trailer driver bears no responsibility. The plaintiff’s reconstruction expert determined that the driver was partially to blame for the collision with the vehicle in which the plaintiff was riding and the resulting injuries.
The plaintiff’s counsel’s timely delivery of an evidence preservation letter to opposing counsel was critical in preserving the tractor-trailer’s dashboard camera video footage. It was about to be deleted and provided compelling evidence of driver responsibility.
The case was settled for $1,000,000.
