A $1.1M Settlement Reached for Physician Killed in Head-On Collision
A $1.1 million settlement was reached in the case of a 37-year-old male physician who was killed on his way to work when he was hit head-on by a truck in his lane of travel. The truck had previously collided with a pickup in front of the decedent’s vehicle. The truck blamed the pickup for the accident, while the pickup blamed the truck.
The decedent claimed that both the truck and the pickup were at fault, though the truck had a stronger case.
The decedent died at the scene. He was not married and did not have any children. His elderly parents and two adult siblings were his statutory beneficiaries.
The truck provided complete liability coverage. The pickup paid a portion of its liability insurance.
